There are so many incredibly talented cake designers out there, but let’s face it, sometimes a towering wedding cake with fondant and all the fixings just isn’t in the cards…or your budget. I get it. The night before my wedding, my mom drove me to the grocery store to pick out a simple white birthday cake. (We adorned it with some handmade bunting crafted of vintage fabric.)

The photos collected here are proof that even the most humble cakes can be every bit as photogenic as their expensive bakery shop counterparts–especially when adorned with fresh blooms. Aren’t they all just so charming and sincere? Perfect inspiration for brides and grooms who like to keep it sweet and simple.
