We’re not just about weddings at Stockroom Vintage. Sure, we’re mostly about weddings and styled shoots, but I love a good party as much as the next gal. So when Kate asked me to design + style a baby shower for her best friend Shannon with Stockroom’s vintage rentals, I was thrilled! Kate asked for a shower that wasn’t too baby-ish…just a lovely Western-inspired co-ed shebang to welcome Baby Miller in style.
Friends and family of the Millers dined on tacos and struck poses in the photo booth we designed (with lots of cowboy props, a larger-than-life paper cactus and a play gun, naturally!). The bandanas you see partygoers donning above were screenprinted to read, “Yeehaw! It’s a boy! Welcome, Baby Miller.” The bandanas doubled as keepsake party favors for all of the guests. I also love the bunting that we strung along the photo booth backdrop and throughout the home. I ordered the coordinating southwestern fabrics designed by Katherine Codega from Etsy (that horse print is just irresistible!) and made miles of bunting with it.
I really have too many favorite design details from this baby shower to mention…but I’ll give it a whirl. We draped vintage wool saddle blankets on the hay bales to create a lounge area on the porch. And we tucked a collection of vintage dessert + cowboy postcards into our exposed bedsprings. We also dipped some old rusty horseshoes into paint that coordinated with our color palette and filled tons of our amber glass bottles with blooms from Import Flowers. Oh, and my favorite element: our handmade love struck arrows, which were also featured by Somewhere Splendid.
Thank you to Kate and the Millers for inviting me to style this baby shower–baby Miller sure is one lucky boy! – Elizabeth
