Published: Our Elegant, Modern Victorian Styled Shoot Featured on Style Me Pretty!

When Hillary Yeager at Brocade Designs asked me to team up with her to put a modern twist on a Victorian-inspired shoot at Nashville’s Riverwood Mansion, I couldn’t resist! Between the mint and peach color scheme and the home’s “triple” parlor–it has the most beautiful fireplaces, chandeliers and Federal + Greek Revival touches–the shoot was a stylist’s dream. And when I found out that Style Me Pretty featured our shoot?! Yeah, dream day! Stockroom’s gray Myrlynn Mirror Vanity served as the cake table, with stacks of our Heirloom China Plates tucked inside the vanity’s drawer. In the “cocktail parlor” I styled a conversational lounge area that featured our Tufted White Settee, Gray Velvet Chairs and Jenna Coffee Table. Instead of the typical guestbook, we placed a treasured book of love poems atop the coffee table, where a sign created by Elizabeth Hardin of Hardink Calligraphy asked guests to underline favorite passages and leave love notes and words of wisdom. I adore these little unexpected touches! The bar featured our signature drink–a peach old fashioned garnished with mint and a lemon twist! I also incorporated some vintage decanters and a mirror vanity tray from my personal vintage collection. The hand-lettered chalkboard I designed provided some fun tips on Victorian party etiquette. I could go on and on about the details in this wedding inspiration shoot! Hillary and her team added so many swoon-worthy touches to this shoot–the rose petals down the aisle and those chair ties?! Happy (almost) Mother’s Day, loves! Any big plans for Sunday? My mom lives on the West Coast, and while I wish so very much I could spend Sunday morning drinking coffee and chatting with her, instead I sent off a lovely vintage gift (no spoilers here!).

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day on this little blog of mine than by sharing my favorite mommy-daughter shoot from earlier this spring. Aren’t these two the sweetest?! Happy Friday, friends! I’m apparently still on my high from The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale–it really was that fun!–because I’m back to share some photos that the lovely Alissa Saylor captured of my booth. I’m so glad she was able to photograph my booth before the crowds showed up for Thursday night’s preview sale–these images serve as a great reminder of all the love + time I put into curating my first ever collection of vintage pieces for sale (not just for rent!). Just hours after Alissa snapped these lovely photos, a good portion of my finds were already in the hands of shoppers and headed to their new homes!This industrial kitchen island was by far my favorite piece in my booth. I rescued this chippy green industrial base from a pile, knowing it was destined for a bigger purpose. My husband and I reclaimed the barnwood you see on top from a gorgeous old barn that fell at Starlite Farm, which is home to The Strawberry Patch sale, last February. My handy hubby cut the planks to size to complete my vision for this piece. Word has it that this island will soon find its place in the limelight–its buyer says it will be the star of a kitchen shoot very soon!

All in all, that was the most rewarding part of the sale–meeting kindred spirits and collectors who made love connections with my finds and who were teeming with ideas on how to repurpose them or incorporate them into their home decor. I met so many amazing + creative shoppers. Well, I’m off to prep for a wedding and a baby shower this weekend, lovelies! Our Styling at The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale with Photos by Alissa Saylor

When Christy Jo Stone asked me to style The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale this spring, I couldn’t say no. First, because she’s a total doll with lots of talent to boot. And second because Starlite Farm in Hartsville, TN, is a stylist’s dream–rustic barns, a shimmering pond, rolling hills for days. Yeah, dreamy!

And this VW van set is by far one of my absolute favorite styling feats to date. Let’s be honest…it’s difficult to not make a VW look adorable. But I love how our vintage camping set (should I say “glamping”?) turned out! Much thanks to Alissa Saylor Photography for capturing this beauty…and for being the most amazing styling assistant + friend a girl could ask for!

I love having an excuse to stack Stockroom’s vintage suitcases and train cases to high heaven! Add in some of my favorite retro folding lawn chairs from our collection along with some handmade bunting and other goodies from our arsenal of rentals, and I’m one happy camper. I do have one confession to make though: The fabric for that gorgeous, sunny bunting? It came from a vintage dress…that I ripped apart. In my defense, the dress was horribly stained and tattered (not to mention not in my size!), so I rescued it from the shelves of a thrift store and breathed new life into it. That’s okay, right?! Yeah, I know. It’s vintage sacrilege. But I couldn’t resist! I mean, it’s sheer and sunny and perfect…and all that happy, mustard yellow is just the pop of sunshine I needed for this baby blue set. Once the sunlight started pouring through that sheer fabric, I totally made peace with the dress carnage. Much thanks to Christy Jo again for inviting me + Stockroom Vintage to the barn sale. It was such a dream! And I don’t even have enough words of gratitude for my styling assistants for the day, Alissa Saylor and Taylore Lantz. Styling an entire farm + my own booth wasn’t easy, but these lovely ladies made it a piece a cake! Oh, and I must thank Sarah Beth Hunter Pegg for loaning us her amazing vintage VW van for a few days. It was by far the best styling prop of all time! - Elizabeth

Announcing My Paws + People Mini Sessions with Mandy Whitley Photography

I’m so excited to announce this fun and furry collaboration with Mandy Whitley Photography: styled spring mini-sessions for people and their pets…or just your furry friends, if you prefer. The sessions will be May 4 at Ellington Ag Center in Nashville, which is a lovely park setting. Pets of all kinds are welcome!

I’m thrilled to be working with Mandy and all of your cute fur babies! If you know anything about me, you know that I am obsessed with my three dogs, Nigel, Mumford and Topher. I’m so excited, in fact, that I’ve booked one of these sessions for my own pups! I couldn’t pass up the chance to have them photographed by Mandy with some sweet Stockroom Vintage props and handmade decor and styling.

Hello, lovelies! I thought I’d share a little bit of spring on a cold, rainy Nashville day. I created these DIY Terrarium Place Cards for Old Time Pottery and The Budget Savvy Bride. I love anything tiny, and I’m obsessed with terrariums, so these place cards (which can also double as favors for wedding guests!) are right up my alley. Even if you’re not planning a wedding, I think these terrariums would make the sweetest addition to a Mother’s Day brunch table. Happy Wednesday, loves! I was so excited to get an email from one of our Stockroom Vintage brides yesterday to let me know her Lexington, Kentucky vintage farm wedding was featured on Wedding Row | Kentucky. Jaclyn did such a beautiful job designing this rustic fall wedding. It’s always so exciting to see Stockroom pieces get their 15 minutes in the limelight–in this case, our mix-and-match heirloom dinner plates!

Jaclyn was such a dream bride to work with–I love her style! She collected so many beautiful pieces to pull together this rustic, vintage farm wedding. Best of luck to Jaclyn + Wyman in their married life! - Elizabeth

The Styled Sessions | Nashville Styled Photography Workshop

I’m so excited to officially announce of all the details for The Styled Sessions, a collaboration between Stockroom Vintage + Jenny Cruger Photography! When I emailed Jenny with my idea, I was so nervous! The idea for this unique styled photography workshop was so dear to my heart–and I knew Jenny was the perfect collaborator! I fell in love with her talent and aesthetic when I worked with her on our Styled Magic Forest Wedding shoot (you’ll see photos from our shoot throughout this post). So, when Jenny answered my email with a quick and very excited “yes,” I was beyond giddy!

May 18 + May 19 | Nashville, TN (area)

The Styled Sessions is much more than a photography workshop. Part styled shoot, part professional training, this unique workshop incorporates heirloom vintage objects and curated details with the organic textures, colors and light you’ll only find on a plot of Nashville farmland. The result? A ready-made, stunning styled shoot designed by Elizabeth Ulrich of Stockroom Vintage and couched in an intimate learning environment guided by Jenny Cruger.

The Styled Sessions will bring together Elizabeth and Jenny’s shared love of creating and capturing impactful moments of pure, simple beauty. If you bring your camera, we’ll bring the inspiration and instruction you need to fill your portfolio with images that tell a beautiful story you’ll never tire of sharing.The first day of the workshop will include an organic bridal shoot, complete with several styled sets and vignettes. The second day will feature a mother-child intimate tea party and cozy bed set—one that’s ripe for cuddling on the farm. Sign up to attend one day or both. Rest assured that each day will offer distinct beauty and moments to capture.

On each day, Elizabeth and Jenny will also share the secrets of their trades, with Elizabeth offering insight on working with a stylist and Jenny passing along her expertise through shooting, classroom instruction and lots of discussion. I’m a Scout for FleaQuest: The National Online Vintage Guide by Ki Nassauer and Team

I’m not going lie. When I received an email from Ki Nassauer, the vintage maven behind Junk Bonanza and the executive editor of Flea Market Style and Flea Market Style Weddings, I stopped breathing for a bit. It was definitely one of those, “Wait, she knows I exist?!” moments. Yeah, clearly I’m a crazed vintage fan girl.

Of course, I would’ve said yes to just about any request in that email, especially because she said she values my expertise as a junker + antiquer. And I’m super excited to say that Ki asked me to be a scout for FleaQuest, a national online guide of the best vintage shops and sales created by Ki and her team. I’m so excited and honored to be one of the site’s beta testers. As a FleaQuest Scout, I’ll be contributing my favorite vintage shopping and secret junking spots to the guide. And, trust me, with all of the shopping and scouring I do for the Stockroom Vintage rental inventory, I have lots of secret locations to spill! I think the idea behind FleaQuest is brilliant!
