Let Them Eat Chevron Cake

Ready for a virtual sugar high? I’ll get to the cakes in a minute, but first, a back story: I’m kind of obsessed with chevron prints. (Okay, fully, hopelessly obsessed.) I read stuff on other blogs about how chevron designs are so overused and how some people are very much over them. Then I look at the curtains in my kitchen, the chairs at our dining table and the textiles in our bedroom…and I realize I am so not over chevrons. (You’ll even find my favorite chevron fabric invading Stockroom Vintage—see our Cream Parlor Chairs and Bentwood Chairs.)

So you can imagine my excitement when I spied a chevron wedding cake in this Design*Sponge post about the Charm City Cakes Summer 2012 collection. I hadn’t considered a chevron culinary takeover, but this is one food revolution I can get behind. Then it hit me: There must be other chevron cakes out there. Beautiful, graphic cakes featuring my favorite print! Wouldn’t these pretty, playful designs make for the sweetest wedding dessert table of all time? Hope you cakelets love them as much as I do!
