Hello, friends! Today is a good day because I’m finally sharing photos from a styled shoot that I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with. When I look at the gorgeous photos Jenny Cruger captured from this day, I want to live in them. Of course, that means I’ll be sharing about a zillion photos with you today. And, you guys, this is after I seriously narrowed them down. There were just THAT many to love!
The shoot took place at Pine Halls in Cottontown, TN, on a day that just so happened to bring the final snowfall of the year. The snow that blanketed the pine trees gave the whole forest this magical Narnia feel. I love that the whole day felt like this sweet, lingering goodbye to winter, one where the grays and whites of the season gave way to the beautiful bright pops of lavender and spring flowers.
I am so in love with our bride. Her boho style married perfectly with the look we envisioned for the styling of this wedding–we wanted something organic, natural and a bit untamed. When I topped off that amazing gown from The Bride Room with a faux fur coat, a pretty pair of lace-up boots, an armful of gold bangles and that wild floral crown (with all that lovely greenery!), I was floored by her look. And her beautiful blond dreadlocks and tattoos? She might be my favorite boho alternative bride of all time.
All of the flowers are the work of Hillary Yeager of Brocade Design. She nailed the untamed mix of lavender, herbs and pretty blooms we envisioned.
I always have so much fun styling sweetheart tables for brides + grooms. I love creating a special little spot for couples to share their first meal as husband + wife. This one was really special because it’s adorned with barn wood that my husband and I reclaimed from a toppled barn here in Tennessee. I used one of the planks we saved and cut it into the table runner and the two hand-painted “Mr. and Mrs.” chair signs. How much do you love those Brocade Design flowers coupled with the candlelight? The brass and gold accents picked up the sparkle of the the fresh snow, and it was like magic.
I made these handmade wedding favors as a nod to the history of the Pine Halls forest. The family who has owned the farm for generations planted each and every one of the pine trees by hand, summer after summer, until they had created a beautiful forest. I found that story so sweet and charming that I couldn’t resist crafting guest favors with tiny pine trees that they could plant after the wedding to remember the day and “Let Love Grow.”
Elizabeth Hardin of Hardink Calligraphy designed this invitation suite for us. The accents of gray and gold were so lovely!
I collaborated on this cake with my styling assistant, Jenna Puckett of Kitty Cat Stevens. She made the cake, I adorned it with the lavender sprigs, gold bands and golden branches. I love simple cakes!
The iced herbal tea bar carried out the natural, organic vibe of the shoot. The lavender green tea and rosemary iced tea were gorgeous and delicious–my favorite combination!
Thank you to all of the amazing vendors who collaborated with us on this shoot. It’s definitely one of my all-time favorites! For more photos, pop on over to Jenny Cruger’s blog post. - Elizabeth
