Style Files: Vintage Swimwear

1. Retro Poppy Bikini / 2. Sunset Tips Bikini / 3. Dolly Gingham Maillot / 4. Sweetheart Patchwork Maillot

Aren’t these vintage-inspired swimsuits from Anthropologie and Shabby Apple absolutely amazing—not to mention prime for a honeymoon wardrobe? Sure, they’re pricier than swimwear from Target, but you only have one honeymoon, right? Why not capitalize on your post-wedding, newlywed glow and look absolutely stunning in your beach vacation photos? Consider a suitcase of retro-looking swimsuits your reward for pulling off an awesome wedding.

I truly miss my honeymoon. That must be a common thing. The hubby and I spent nearly a week in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, following the sun from lawnchair to lawnchair, eating lots of ceviche and earning ourselves the title of “First Couple at the Pool. Every. Single. Day.”

5. Sutherland Point / 6. Baudin Beach Halter / 7. Castaway’s Beach

I admittedly did a ton of shopping before we left, mostly for vintage-inspired swimsuits—and those suits made every single sunny second of our honeymoon all the more special. When I look back on our beachy photos, my favorites (of course!) are the ones where the hubby is in his straw Panama hat, and I’m wearing my favorite retro black swimsuit that I jazzed up with vintage brooches from the flea market. Those timeless shots remind me of photos I have of my grandparents sunning together at Miami Beach in 1945. They were so young, standing arm and arm, covered in sand and ever so in love.
